Materials & Finishes

The principle material used in EuroArt products is Stainless Steel. Other materials such as brass, bronze or other stainless grades are also used for specific site requirements or aesthetic reasons.

EuroArt products are manufactured from a high corrosion resistant Chrome-Nickel Stainless Steel combination. The first-rate material is resistant to corrosion and environmental substances.

Stainless steel, also known as inox steel or inox from French"inoxydable", is defined as a steel alloy with a minimum of 11% chromium content. Stainless steel does not stain, corrode, or rust as easily as ordinary steel, but it is not stain-proof.

Stainless steels are divided into grades (and subgrades) which are determined by their specific constituent elements e.g Chromium and Nickel; these grades help identify whether that steel is more or less suitable for any given application and for example in guidance on the materials corrosion resistance, mechanical or thermal performance or machinability.

Specifiers should be aware that in recent years, primarily due to the rise in the price of key element such as nickel, that many non-internationally recognized grades of stainless have appeared on the market with varying, and sometimes unknown performance characteristics. The main example of this appears to be the substitution of Manganese for more expensive Nickel which is generally understood to significantly reduce the corrosion resistance of the end product.

EuroArt products can be manufactured from grade 316 stainless steel as per special order.

Care of Products and Finishes

Regular Cleaning of Stainless Steel products with a clean cloth and mild detergent in warm water is recommended. Cleaning should always be followed by a rinse in clean hot water and the surface then wiped dry with a clean towel. Abrasive and acid-based cleaning materials should not be used.
